School Review Celebrates Success and Set Direction for the Future

Over the past week, Drysdale Primary School participated in our School Review, an important process that occurs every four years and provides an opportunity to reflect on our achievements, celebrate our successes, and identify priorities for continued improvement.

The review process brought together a range of stakeholders, including Department representatives, school leaders, staff, parents and students, to examine the work we are doing and the impact it is having on student learning and wellbeing. Through classroom observations, discussions, data analysis and presentations, the panel gained a comprehensive understanding of the many strengths that exist across our school.

We were extremely proud to showcase the positive outcomes being achieved by our students and the dedication of our staff in creating a supportive, inclusive and engaging learning environment. The review highlighted the strong culture of learning at Drysdale PS, the positive relationships that underpin our school community, and the commitment of our staff to continually improving their practice to achieve the best outcomes for students.

While the review recognised many areas of success, it also provided valuable insights that will help shape our future direction. The findings will assist us in developing our next School Strategic Plan, ensuring we continue to build on our strengths while identifying opportunities for growth and improvement over the coming years.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the review process. To our panel members, thank you for your professionalism, expertise and thoughtful feedback throughout the review.

To our staff, thank you for your preparation, openness and commitment to sharing the outstanding work taking place across the school.

To our parents and carers who participated in meetings and provided valuable perspectives, thank you for your ongoing partnership and support.

Finally, to our students, thank you for speaking so confidently and proudly about your experiences at Drysdale PS. You represented our school exceptionally well and were a wonderful reflection of our community.

The review process reaffirmed the many things that make Drysdale Primary School such a special place to learn and work. We look forward to building on this strong foundation as we continue to strive for excellence and provide the very best opportunities for every student.

Reports

There has been some great discussion amongst staff during planning and assessment time recently as staff begin to compile data and review student growth to give a mid-year assessment. I look forward to seeing the overall results across the school.

Next term there will be a chance to have good conversation with your child’s teacher to dig deeper into the specifics in parent teacher meetings.

Stranger Danger

It is important that as a community we look out for each other, our young people and have discussions with children about what to do if they encounter an awkward situation. I strongly encourage ALL families to give your children the skills and confidence to identify any situations that are ‘not quite right’ and then act to be safe. If your child encounters anything ‘out of the ordinary’ please report it to police and even let us know. Thanks for keeping the Drysdale kids safe.
