Our new school values

This week we officially launched our new school values – Creativity, Respect, Collaboration and Resilience. We have begun by having discussions with the students around what respect might look like, sound like and feel like in different parts of our community. Rocco and Emerson from Junior School Council presented this to the school at assembly, discussing their perceptions on the value of respect. This is what they had to say:

“Respect in the community sounds like saying hello, using your manners and using kind words”

“Respect at home looks like helping out siblings, packing away our toys and keeping our room tidy”

“Respect at school feels welcoming, inclusive and a nice place to be”

A great way to reinforce this at home, is to talk about respect with your child and ask “what was one way you demonstrated respect today?” “Did someone show you respect? How did that feel?” We look forward to building a common understanding of our school values and how we can demonstrate these positive behaviours in various areas of our school community.
