Year 3/4 Classroom Update

In Maths, we have been learning all about decimals. We've been working with decimal numbers and practicing how to read, write, and order them. We've also been exploring length and learning how to measure objects and distances using centimetres, kilometres, and millimetres. It's been really interesting to see how the different units of measurement work and how we can convert between them.

In English, we've been focusing on storytelling and exploring the different forms that stories can take. We've been reading lots of poetry and learning about figurative and descriptive language. We even wrote our own poems about the environment and presented them confidently to the class. It's been great to see everyone's creativity shine through as they used similes, metaphors, personification and other poetic devices in their writing.!

In Geography, we've been learning about climates and weather patterns in different places around the world. We've also been looking at why people choose to live in certain areas and it's been interesting to discover how the environment and climate can impact where people decide to live.

In sport, we've been learning the skills associated with Touch Football and have started playing modified games. We've been practicing passing, catching, and running with the ball, as well as learning the rules and strategies of the game. InHealth, we've been learning about the qualities that make us special and unique, and how to manage our own emotions. It's been really important to focus on our own wellbeing and development.

In Art, we've been exploring the style of expressionism and abstract art. We have been creating our own cow sculptures that follow this artistic style. Here are some progress photos. We can't wait to show the finished pieces! The class has been full of laughter and creativity as we work on these projects.

Overall, it's been a busy and exciting term so far in Year 3/4. We've been learning so much and having a great time doing it. We can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!
