Principal's message

Dear God,
We pray with gratitude for the courageous police people, and all who support them to go to work each day to uphold the law and to keep our communities safe.
In particular we pray that you watch over them as they work, guiding them, supporting them, accompanying them.
May the Holy Spirit bring them home safely each evening to their families.
We remember those who in the line of their service have been injured physically or emotionally.
We ask that they heal and return to enjoying full lives. We honor the bravery of those who have died and respect their sacrifice and commitment to performing their service for our communities.
We pray that they have eternal rest.
We remember the families of those who have died whose lives are now changed forever.
We ask the Holy Spirit to give them strength and courage to face each day.
Amen
Dear Parents,
We continue to patiently wait for news that the instigator of August 26th's events is brought to justice. We hold firm to the belief that our police force is doing everything possible to apprehend this person without further harm to our police people, and to restore a sense of calm and safety to our Northeast community.
We are particularly grateful to those police people from our own school community who have worked as part of this situation over the past week. We acknowledge the toll it is on them and their families as they head to work each day.
We also acknowledge the toll on those who have kept all other police work happening locally, whilst their colleagues and friends are working to bring this person to justice.
Your work and commitment are valued by our school community.
Grade 4B - Saxby
Mrs Saxby will be away on long service leave for the next 3 weeks, during this time Ms Maddie Norton will be taking her class. A letter has been sent out to her class today via PAM.
Father's Day
This week we celebrate Father's Day. This begins on Wednesday 3rd September when the Father's Day stall is held for the children, then on Thursday beginning at 8.00 am we have the Father's Day breakfast. We look forward to a warm sunny morning for this, which is followed by the Father's Day prayer at 9.00am in the hall. This is a short prayer time as we are conscious of work commitments.
School Athletics
On Friday we invite our school community to join us at the Athletics centre (Bill Eaton Oval - Appin Street) for our Athletics Carnival. This is a highly anticipated day for our children, it's all about having a go, participating and supporting your team whether you are part of Mackillop, Delaney, or Brigidine. Student can wear a T-shirt in their team colour to show where your spirit is. We discourage the wearing of coloured hair spray etc, as this is a sports day not a dress up day. As part of our school's child safe practices, parents may only take photos of their own children and not include other students. We thank parents for their support of the athletics carnival with the focus on sport.
Liturgy
Next Wednesday 10th September we have the Grandparents liturgy for Foundation area (9am hall) and then later in the day the Grade Two liturgy (11.45am chapel).
Have a great week
