Welcome back to Term 4 at SJW. We are so glad to see all the children returned, rested and ready for learning.
October- The Month of the Rosary
In the Catholic tradition, the month of October is the month in which we devote our prayers to Mary, mother of Jesus and ask her to intercede on our behalf. During this time we pray the Hail Mary and the Rosary, made up of the Our Father, Glory Be and Hail Mary prayers said in a particular order to help focus our time of prayer. In addition to these prayers, we remember and reflect on the different times in Mary’s life that mirror the life and mission of Jesus. These are known as the Mysteries, Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous Mysteries.
In FLL lessons this term, students will be encountering the Rosary and Hail Mary, exploring the ways in which these prayers can guide and focus our prayer times. As a whole school, we will take time to pray the Hail Mary and parts of the Rosary at our recess assemblies, praying in both Italian and English.
Below is more information about the Rosary so that you and your family can join in prayer time.
