It was a lovely way to end our great year together by going on a fun excursion to the Melbourne Museum. There were so many interesting things to see and explore, and so many cool facts to learn. It was hard to pick a favourite activity, but the dinosaur exhibition was probably the winner if we had to choose. We were able to imagine how archaeologists find fossils, we saw real dinosaur eggs and we couldn’t believe how huge some of them were. We also saw Phar Lap and some tiny houses just like those in Melbourne hundreds of years ago. We saw live bugs (Yikes!), globes of how the world used to look like, cool rocks and we listened to music by winding up a handle!
Of course, the focus of our visit was to learn about weather and climate change. We were lucky to attend a really informative session to learn about how we can help the environment and also saw a really interesting film about extreme weather. Seeing it on the big screen made it really feel like we were there when the glaciers were melting and when the bushfire got out of control! Everyone had a fun time and learnt a lot too. There was so much to see that many children were saying they wanted to go again during the holidays so they could have more time to explore!
