Dear Parents and Carers,

As the school year draws to a close, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey our Grade 2 students have taken this year. It has been a year filled with learning, laughter, and tremendous growth.

Discovery this term:

Students have been learning all about different scientific fields such as Palaeontology, Botany and Physics. Recently the Grade 2’s became scientists themselves. They wrote out different procedures for experiments during writing and then used their instructions to conduct the experiments themselves. We learnt all about how vortex’s work by making a ‘Tornado in a bottle’. A highlight to end the year included mixing different ingredients together to make our very own volcanic eruption.

A Word of Thanks

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all families for their support throughout the year. Your encouragement at home has played a crucial role in your child’s success. To our wonderful Grade 2 students, we are so proud of how far you’ve come. You have worked hard, been kind to one another, and made the classroom a joyful place to learn.

As we look forward to the summer holidays, we encourage families to keep the learning going with some fun activities:

  • Read a new book together.
  • Explore nature and try some hands-on science experiments.
  • Practice maths in everyday life, like measuring ingredients or counting items during shopping.

We hope you have a safe and relaxing holiday season. Thank you for being a part of our learning community this year. We can’t wait to see the adventures that await in the next chapter of your child’s education journey!

Warm regards,

The Grade 2 Team
