PRAYER
May the God of community walk with us and beside us this year,
sharing our journey and listening to our stories,
embracing our pain, rejoicing in our triumphs.
May God continue to bless our efforts to grow
into a strong and vibrant community
where each person accepts the invitation to celebrate all good things.
And may God, the giver of life;
Jesus, the eternal Word; and the Spirit who inspires us,
bless us now and forever.
Amen
From the Principal
Dear Families,
Welcome to the new school year. It has been wonderful seeing all the students settle into the school community. Our year five and six students have warmly embraced the opportunity to spend time with their prep buddies and help them navigate the school environment.
Family Picnic
As always at this time of year we have scheduled a family picnic when we may gather as a community and share time with friends, old and new. The picnic is planned for Thursday 12th February on the school oval from 5.00 to 7.00 pm. Families bring their own food and drinks. Please note that in accordance with our Child Safe Policy alcohol is not permitted at this event.
Parent information Sessions
All parent/carers are invited to an information session on Monday 16 February at either 2.30 – 3.25 pm or 7.00 – 7.55 pm. The information shared will be the same at both sessions and will focus on curriculum, teaching and learning, and student wellbeing.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
Parent/Teacher interviews are being conducted on Monday 23rd February between 2.00 to 7.00 pm. The interviews, which will be 10 minutes, are an effective way to establish and maintain collaborative relationships between parents/carers and teachers with the purpose of getting to know each student as a person and learner. Students are not required to attend. Bookings can be made through our PAM using the Parent Teacher Interview tab from Monday 9 February. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
Assembly
School assemblies will continue on Fridays at 9.00am in the school Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Parents & Friends Committee
All parents and friends are invited to join our Parents & Friends Committee. The committee provides an opportunity for parents to share their skills and collaborate with others in supporting the school and students to build a sense of community. Our first meeting is planned for Thursday 5 February at 3.00 pm and everyone is welcome. Further information is available from the school office.
School Advisory Council
The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a crucial part of our school community as it promotes consultation between parish, school and families. Parent representatives share their wisdom and offer support to me in relation to strategic interests of the school according to the terms of reference. We meet once per term in the school meeting room. If you are interested in being a part of the SAC or if you would like further information, please contact me.
School Canteen
School canteen will resume next week, Friday 6 February. Canteen on Friday’s is a popular time for students and staff. We appreciate the support of Mrs Angi Hill and Mrs Clara Navaretti who lead the organisation of the canteen. The support of the other parents who have signed up to help is also very much appreciated.
International Students
This term we will be hosting international students for learning periods of one to four weeks. Amy, from China, commenced this morning and will be with us for the next four weeks in the 2-4 class. A further six students will commence in the next few week
We look forward to an exciting year at St Philip’s in 2026. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time with any question, concerns, or queries.

Tuck Shop
"We would love to welcome all the new families starting at St Philips this year. Our Tuck shop is a highlight of the week for the children. They love seeing their parents during lunchtime counter sales! Lunch orders are taken in the morning and delivered to classrooms ready for lunch time. Over lunch time, we have snacks and treats available for sale over the counter. If you are able to spare 1 or 2 sessions per term to volunteer, we would love to hear from you! Full training will be provided. Each volunteer session is from 11:30 - 2.30pm, working in a pair. See below for contact details.
Tuckshop is open every Friday, we are very fortunate to have our tuckshop run by parent volunteers for the students enjoyment. This would not be possible without our small team of committed volunteers showing up week after week.
Please reach out to Clara on 0449 767 020 or Angi on 0431 021 711 if you can help. We appreciate your support.
