Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Families,

Welcome back to Term 4! I hope you all had a nice time together over the school holiday break.

It goes without saying – but Term 4, as always, I going to be a big one here at BNPS.

ROTA-Kids

Last night our Year 6 ROTA-Kids had their presentation dinner at the Ballarat Golf Club. This is always a highlight of our year. A term of working with the volunteers from Ballarat South Rotary Club (in Term 3) saw the program culminate in a sharing and celebration of the community-based projects and initiatives that our students were a part of leading. I am so proud of our students, and I am equally proud that our school partners with a volunteer-based organisation such as Rotary to allow our students this opportunity every year. A big thank you to Ms Vallance and Mrs Gilbert for facilitating this year’s program while Mrs McLean was on long-service leave.

Stand-Up Project

Next week is a busy one, with our new intake of Stand-Up (SUP) Leaders being trained ready for the 2027 school year. Eighteen Year Five students have been selected for this leadership opportunity after the successful implementation of this for the first time in 2026. On the 17th of November, these SUP Leaders will be running a session for parents at 4PM here at the school. Stay tuned for more information, and all parents are welcome to come along to this session and learn more about the Stand-Up Project at BNPS.

Foundation Transition and Information Session

On Tuesday 20th October, we have our first transition session for our new Foundation students. While the children are familiarising themselves with all that it means to be a student at BNPS, Mrs Macdonald and I will be holding an information session for their parents in the hall. We are looking forward to welcoming our new crop of students (and families) to our wonderful community.

Lastly, I’d like to share some success from the regional athletics carnival last week. We had five students competing in various events – all of them (Lily, Lila, Steph, Tom and Harry) did themselves and our school proud. We had some outstanding results and personal bests. Lila’s PB and first place result now sees her heading to the State Level Tournament – a truly outstanding achievement. Well done Lila – we are so proud of you!

Until I see you in person,

David Garner
