Principal's Report

Dear Families,

Thank you to all the families who attended the Book Fair. It was lovely to see such enthusiasm when the kids were choosing the books. In total, we sold $1,413 worth of books which enabled us to receive a commission to purchase extra books for our library.

PHILLIP ISLAND CAMP RECOUNT

Avah Stocker wrote a recount about the Phillip Island camp. Sounds like they had a great time!

Camp recount

On Tuesday the 6th of October, the grade 5/6s went to Phillip Island for camp. The first day we got to school and waited for everyone to arrive. After the four hour bus ride, we arrived at Churchill Island Heritage Farm. We got to milk cows, look at baby lambs, and watch a cattle dog round up sheep. After we got checked in, and started to unpack. Soon after, we went to see the penguins but before we had dinner and went to the gift shop. The penguins were hard to see because they were little and it was very cold. The next morning, we went for a walk on the beach and up a big hill to see the Pinnacles. After the walk, we had lunch on the beach and went surfing and boogyboarding. We got into tight wet suits and learnt how to surf on the sand before giving it a go. When we were finished, we had showers and dinner then we started a game of trivia. The third day, we left to go to the Koala Reserve, Amaze’n’things, rock climbing, laser tag and bowling. The Koala reserve went really quickly, but there weren’t many koalas. Amaze’n’things was fun. They had a scare room that was full of surprises and caught me off guard. The big maze was really big and we found all 4 flags even though it was really hot. At rock climbing I tried things I didn’t think that I would try and I got to the top of the ladder wall and the stairs to heaven. On the final day we all woke up and had breakfast, then we had to start packing up our beds and bags. Before we left, we went to see a man feeding the pelicans. He gave us a lecture on saving the environment and not littering and then fed the pelicans fish. We went to the chocolate factory on the way home, where we got to eat lots of chocolate and play a few games to win chocolate balls. When we finished we got on the bus and went home.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

As the weather warms up, students will now be wearing shorts to school. The guidelines state that the girl's school uniform is navy blue shorts, skirts or skorts. Ideally, the shorts/skirts should be longer than the polo shirt. We discourage girls from wearing Netball Knicks as they are too short and not suitable for school.
