Principal's Message
From the Desk of Kathy Nott - Term 3, Week 7
Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,
Father's Day Breakfast & Stall
This Friday, 4th September we invite our Fathers/Male Caregivers to attend a breakfast bacon and egg rolls with your child to celebrate Father's Day. Our P&C will be holding a Father's Day stall during the day for students to purchase a gift for their Father/Grandfather/Male Caregiver. An invitation for the breakfast was sent home last week, and we ask that it be returned to the school ASAP for catering purposes. Please note that we ask that only one adult per family attend. Order forms for the Father's Day stall were also sent home last week. If you did not receive these notes, please contact the school office.
New England Northwest Regional Athletics Carnival
We wish Piper who will compete in the Long Jump and High Jump and Telmie who will compete in the Long Jump and the 200M, the best of luck as they compete at the New England Northwest Regional Athletics Carnival this Friday, 4th September. We look forward to hearing about the day.
Future Leaders of Werris Creek Public School
Each morning before we start our day we hold an assembly to discuss what is happening for the day, behaviour focus for the week and acknowledge our turn up and home reader awards. We start our assembly with an acknowledgement to country. We are now encouraging some of our younger students to step up and lead our school. This week we have Parker & Latrell leading with the Acknowledgement to Country. Well done to Parker & Latrell for aspiring to be future leaders of Werris Creek Public School.

Behaviour Focus
This week we again are focusing on being Safe:
We are learning to:
Consistently interact safely with others at all times
We know we are successful when we:
Hands and feet off
Kind words/think before you speak
Respect others personal space
Use equipment safely

Home reading is encouraged at Werris Creek Public School. Just 10 minutes per night can make a difference. To encourage our students to read at home, we offer some great incentives. See the image below with our incentive program. If you would like some tips on encouraging your child to read, please see their classroom teacher.

Attendance Matters
Congratulations to the 16 students who are part of our 100% Club. These students have attended school 100% of the time in Term 3.

We have 35 Students in total attending 90% or above. Keep up the good work as attendance matters.

If your child is to be absent from school for any reason, please ensure you contact the school office to advise or reply to the SMS message that is sent on the day of absence. It is important that we notify the department the reason your child is not attending school.
Kind regards
Kathy Nott
