Sacrament of Confirmation
On Tuesday night (1st September), 17 of our Year 6 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation at Our Lady of Victories Basilica in Camberwell. They were joined by students from Our Lady's Primary School, Surrey Hills.

Thank you to our Year 6 teachers who helped prepare these students as well as their families.
Confirmation confirms and strengthens baptismal grace. It is called Chrismation in the Eastern Churches because the essential rite of the sacrament is anointing with the holy oil of chrism.
May we continue to pray for these children and their families that the Holy Spirit will give them strength and draw them closer into a life of faith where their love for God will empower them.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Children
Next term, the parish is offering the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) for school-aged children who wish to be baptised and begin their journey in the Catholic faith. Details and dates for classes are in the flyer below.
RE Learning in 3/4DG
Over the past 7 weeks we have been identifying role models and key people in our lives that we choose to follow. We identified qualities they possess which include,
- Consistency
- Kindness
- Caring
- Supportive
- Trustworthy
We then connected these qualities with those that Jesus possessed, as someone who was a role model for his disciples and Mary. Students from 3/4DG shared some of their takeaways,
In R.E we have been learning about role models and how we can be like Jesus. We can show this by being kind to others, being respectful and looking out for each other!

In religion we've been working on how Jesus was a good role model because he is selfless, kind and hard working.

As a learning group, we then created footprints to identify ways we can follow in Jesus' footsteps in our own lives.

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘If your brother does something wrong, go and have it out with him alone, between your two selves. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. If he does not listen, take one or two others with you: the evidence of two or three witnesses is required to sustain any charge. But if he refuses to listen to these, report it to the community; and if he refuses to listen to the community, treat him like a pagan or a tax collector.
‘I tell you solemnly, whatever you bind on earth shall be considered bound in heaven; whatever you loose on earth shall be considered loosed in heaven.
‘I tell you solemnly once again, if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three meet in my name, I shall be there with them.’
