SPORT

Congratulations Josie & Benji representing ACS Cross Country team in Sydney.

Congratulations to Josie and Benji who competed at Polding. Benji & Josie both placed 26th in their respective races, well done to you both on an outstanding effort.

At this level the pace and the atmosphere of the cross country carnival requires students to bring the very best of themselves; athletically and  personally. It’s a big deal and we are all very proud of you!

SCHOOL ATHLETICS CARNIVAL-Tuesday 17th June

Our athletics carnival (Tuesday 17th June) at Walcha Central. All students need to be dropped off directly to the oval at Walcha Central School in time for a 9.00 am start. Students who normally travel to school by bus will be delivered to and collected from Walcha Central  School by Oxley Explorer. One of our teachers will be supervising students in both the morning and afternoon. Students who are on pickups need to be collected from the carnival. We will NOT be going back to St Pat's (Information has been sent out through the COMPASS Portal  providing details.)

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

In the event of inclement weather, a Compass notification will be posted at 7.00 am. If the weather is such that the carnival cannot go ahead on that day, students will be required to come to school as they would any other day. An alternate date for the carnival will then be arranged.

To guarantee the success of our carnival, we are in need of volunteers. Also the P&F kindly request assistance from any volunteers who can help with the operation of the barbecue and the stall. If you can assist in any way, even if it is only for an hour, please let the school know.

Timed Finals

Most events at the athletic carnival will have two or more heats. This means that placegetters in each event  will not be known until all events have been run and timed. So, a child who wins their heat may not win the event. Ribbons will be awarded to the event winners and placegetters only.

High Jump

The high jump event is scheduled to take place prior to the athletics carnival during class P.E. / Sport lessons on Friday, 13th June.

St Patrick's Primary Sports Handbook

St Patrick's now has an official sports handbook and it has been updated after the school swimming carnival held recently. This book is designed to give all members associated with our school a clearer understanding of when our school conducts our various sporting carnivals, the processes/qualifying times involved for students who want to represent our school at Diocesan sporting events as well as an explanation of the representative sporting pathways your child may want to undertake in their respective sports.
