Warrandyte Festival Performances

This year, Warrandyte Primary School will perform three songs at the Warrandyte Festival on Saturday, March 28th.  The first will be a celebration dance to ‘Live Louder’ by this year’s Victorian State Schools Spectacular mass dance ensemble. The other two songs, ‘True Colours’ and ‘Gumtrees’ - inspired by the volunteers of Warrandyte who support our students with their interests and passions - will be both sung and signed in Auslan by a group of students from Years 2 – 6.

If your child is participating in these performances, please meet them after the parade and accompany them to the stairs-side of the Stiggants Reserve stage by 11.10am so they are assembled and ready for our 11.30am stage set. Students should wear sunscreen and have a water bottle (which can be left in the tent side stage during the performance).

Victorian State Schools Spectacular 2026– save the date!

2026 promises to be another exciting year for WPS at the Victorian State Schools Spectacular! Congratulations to the forty students who all showed enthusiasm, respect and support for one another at the school auditions to be one of the sixteen students selected for our mass dance ensemble. The final team are now busy rehearsing for their Warrandyte Festival performance next weekend and can’t wait to begin learning some of their seven routines at our first regional at The Basin Primary School on March 31.

There will be two shows at John Cain Arena this year on Saturday, August 29 - make sure you save the date! Each year, our students love the support they receive from members of our school community who come along to watch. Once again, you will be able to enjoy seeing some of past WPS students shining on the main stage. This year, Zack Poole and Izayah Khazour, both principal vocalists, will be joined by Lilla Baker as a principal dancer. In the select-entry VSSS Choir, Maeva Khazour will be joined by Callum Dudgeon. Congratulations to all these amazing past students who all began their Spec journeys in mass dance! We can’t wait to see you share your talents with the huge audience at the arena as well as the TV audience later in December.

Production help

The whole school erupted in enthusiastic applause at the ‘reveal’ of our musical production for 2026! It would be great to have some parent volunteers on our Production Team to help bring the show to life. A list outlining production team roles will be sent to families at the end of term, but please contact me in the meantime if you know an area of support that might interest you. Also, please make a note of the performance date: Thursday, October 29 at 7pm at George Wood Performing Arts Centre, Yarra Valley Grammar School.
