Attendance Matters

The Attendance Management Team (AMT) would like to extend a sincere thank you to the LPS school community for your ongoing support and cooperation with attendance procedures throughout the 2025 school year.

We understand that balancing illness, medical appointments, and family commitments can be challenging at times. We truly appreciate your continued commitment to ensuring that students attend school regularly and engage in learning alongside their peers whenever possible.

We encourage families to regularly review the Attendance section on Compass to monitor their child’s attendance across the school year. At times, cumulative absence days can gradually increase without being immediately noticeable.

To support your understanding, please refer to the article in Issue 12 of the iNewsletter – Understanding Your Child’s Attendance Data.

The flyers below will also help you identify whether your child’s cumulative absence places them On TrackAt Risk, or Off Track.

As we head into the holiday season, parents are reminded to enter absence notes promptly. Keeping attendance updated helps our staff plan and support students effectively.

Extended Holidays

  • If your child will be absent for more than 5 school days, a Student Absence Learning Plan (SALP) is required
  • To receive a SALP, please email the school with the dates of the planned absence so the process can begin
  • This applies to extended absences leading into the beginning of the 2026 school year

We look forward to continuing our partnership with families in 2026 as we work together to reduce cumulative absences and late arrivals.

If you have any questions regarding your child’s attendance record, please email lyndhurst.ps@education.vic.gov.au to request an appointment.
