Welcome Back!

Welcome Back to Term 3!
I hope you all have had a well-deserved break and been able to recharge your batteries in readiness for a shorter Term 3. I am very much looking forward to returning to Jackson this term and reconnecting with you all.
I would like to thank Bern for stepping into the Acting Principal role during my secondment at Riverwalk Primary School. Thank you also to Julie, Matt and the leadership team for their support and leadership. Thank you also to Kathy Pham for taking on the Acting Assistant Principal role in Term 2, leading our Wellbeing SIT in addition to the many Disability Inclusion Profile meetings you were involved in.
My time at Riverwalk provided a valuable insight into a Support Inclusion School as part of the broader Disability Inclusion Reform landscape. I was pleased to help them navigate some significant challenges and compliance activities during a period of instability for their community. It also helped me reflect on all of the amazing work we do every day at Jackson and the tireless effort of all staff in meeting the complex learning and wellbeing needs of our learners - thank you!
Over the holidays, I had a number of tasks to complete at Riverwalk as well as preparation work for returning to Jackson. In the first week, we got to catch up with Phil Haigh (previous staff member), who is visiting from the UAE. We also spent a few nights in Melbourne visiting Disney on Ice, Lightscape and the Sea Life Centre.
