From the Principal

Shout out and Sing with JOY!!
On Wednesday 25th February we had Michael Mangan visit our school for the day. Michael Mangan is a composer, teacher, performer and liturgist who is based in Brisbane, Australia. We sing a number of Michael Mangan hymns in our school liturgies from'Heart on Fire' to 'Out of Ashes and "Mary said Yes!"
This was an extra special day as we were joined by the Year 1-6 students from St Kevin's Hampton Park. We had over 700 students in our hall. This was the very first time we have come together to celebrate the votive (Not on the actual day) feast of St Francis de Sales.
The day commenced with a beautiful Mass with Fr Fabian. Fr Fabian shared what an amazing Saint St Francis de Sales is. His message was simple that in our everyday life we can get further with kindness and love for others and the world around us. We can bloom where we are planted and make a difference as we too walk in the footsteps of Christ.
After Mass there was an opportunity for the juniors to learn some new hymns and actions to familiar ones with Mangan while the seniors did activities in the Learning spaces. Then we swapped so the seniors had a concert with Michael. The day concluded with all of us coming together for a combined concert. Our Hearts were sure on Fire as we sang our hearts out and joined in the actions that Michael taught us.
It was a memorable day and we thank Rozeta our Religious Education Leader and Anne from St Kevin's for all their coordination to ensure it was a joyous day for all who attended and provided the opportunities to build relationships as two schools within one parish.
Meet our New Staff
Hello SFS Community! I am Dimitri Willenberg
I am delighted to be joining the team this year to teach Music our Juniors and Seniors. I am deeply passionate about music performance, and I am particularly excited to help students connect with their faith and grow closer to God through their musical gifts.
Before coming to SFS, I was a Primary Music Teacher at Maranatha Christian School for two years. I also spent 18 years in the public system teaching classroom music and specializing in Brass and Woodwind instruction.
When I’m not teaching, I love jamming on my trumpet and bass guitar. Life at home is busy and fun with my two children (10 months and 3 years old), and when I get a quiet moment, I enjoy gaming and eRacing with friends.
I look forward to making some great music with your students this year!
Hi! My name is Mary Lucas and I am delighted to be joining the SFS family.
I am married and have two grown up sons and 3 beautiful grandchildren. I live by the beach and one of my very favourite things is to walk along the beach in all kinds of weather. I also love travelling, both overseas and within Australia. As a result of my love of nature and animals, I will be helping your children explore all about the environment and how we can look after it as God has asked us to do.
Oh, and my other love is Collingwood!!
I look forward to getting to know you and working with you.
Eligibility for 2026 Concessional Fees
Parents with Health Care Cards that are eligible for the The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) are eligible for the School Fees Concession Program. The card must be issued in the name of the fee payer and list the students for whom the concession is to be applied.
The expiry date of the card must be after 1 January of the year for which the concession is to be applied. If an eligible concession card expires after the start of the year, the concessional fee rate will still be applied for the entire year. If a family becomes eligible during the course of the school year, then a pro‐rata concession will be granted.
Important notes
- The concession is automatic for a parent/guardian/carer responsible for the school fees who holds the eligible card.
- A CSEF application must be submitted for a concession to be granted.
- Where the fee account is split, the concession applies to only that portion payable by the eligible card holder.
- All families receiving or requesting a fee concession must notify the school should their financial circumstances change sufficiently to affect the level of concession offered.
- Any offer of a concession is subject to the applicant entering into a Direct Debit Request (DDR) service agreement or Centrepay deduction arrangement. Any default in payment may result in the concession being withdrawn.
Should an application be considered ineligible, the applicant will be notified that the application has been declined.
A nForma Notice will be sent to all parents. Please indicate if you have or do not have an eligible health Care Card. If you qualify as you posses a valid Health Care Card, you need to complete the attached forms and email or bring them to the office by 1st March so that your application can be processed.
All parents are required to complete the fee agreement. Parents who are paying fees by installments are encouraged to set up a direct debit payment for 2026.
