Senior School Camp - Camp Kangaroobie

Day 1

Our Seniors arrived at Camp Kangaroobie at 1:15 pm and settled into camp before heading off on a big afternoon adventure!

Students walked down to the river and rafted across before hiking through the dunes to the beach. After a well-earned snack, they enjoyed a swim, rode boards down the dunes and played ‘Mugby’ (keepings off) before making the walk back to camp.

After a big 4-hour adventure, students enjoyed afternoon tea and dinner before heading out for a night walk and finishing the evening with supper. A huge first day!

Day 2

Our full day of camp consisted of group activities, which included:

Farm Activities:

Groups worked with the farmer on day-to-day work such as feeding cows and pigs, and also helped out with seasonal work such as mustering sheep, shearing sheep, and assisting with calving cows.

Canoeing:

We used two-person Canadian canoes, and the expressions of sheer enjoyment on students' faces tell the story of how much this is. Each student was fitted with a buoyancy vest for this activity.

Game of Life or Death:

Life or Death is an exciting activity about survival of the fittest. Students were put into three teams - herbivore, carnivore or disease - those who manage to avoid the enemy and find enough water to survive win.

The students ended the day with dinner and watching Toy Story 5!
