Miss Jaclyn is always busy keeping our socials up to date and sharing the terrific things happening at our school.

As we wrap up an incredible Term 3, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our entire school community for your energy, support, and dedication. This term has been packed with milestones, creativity, and unforgettable moments that highlighted the wonderful spirit of our school.

Term 3 Highlights

  • Soundtrack Spectacular Concert: A massive congratulations to all our students for their breathtaking performances! Pulling off a production of this scale takes a village, and we are deeply grateful to our whole community for rallying together to make it such a triumph. A special shout-out goes to Ms Jaclyn and Ms Louise—their extraordinary, above-and-beyond efforts behind the scenes made this magic possible.
  • Record-Breaking Book Fair: Thanks to your incredible generosity, this year’s Book Fair raised the highest amount of money in our school's history! Every cent raised goes directly back into purchasing fresh classroom learning resources for our students.
  • Prep Milestones & Friday Market: Our Preps had a phenomenal term, celebrating their 100 Days of School milestone and showing off their budding entrepreneurial skills by hosting our beloved Friday Market.
  • Book Week & Father's Day: We loved seeing the creativity on display for Book Week, and it was wonderful to come together to celebrate our fathers and significant father figures who play such an important role in our lives.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership in making our school such a warm, vibrant place to learn and grow. We wish all of our families a safe, restful, and very happy term break, and we look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for Term 4!

Congratulations 👣

We have some very special news to share from our teaching staff! Ms Jaime and her partner are expecting a baby early next year.

We know our school community, and especially our Prep families, might feel a bit of déjà vu with this announcement! We want to reassure everyone that Jaime will be staying with us right through to the end of Term 4 to finish out the school year with her students.

Since joining our staff at the beginning of the semester, Jaime has brought so much warmth, energy, and dedication to our Preps. We are so grateful for everything she brings to our school, and we look forward to celebrating this exciting next chapter with her throughout the final term.

Please join us in sending Jaime our warmest congratulations as she prepares for motherhood!

A huge thank you to all those who participated in the Indigenous Literacy Day Readathon. As a school, we donated $885 which will help provide books and literacy resources to children in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait isalnder communities. We extend our thank you for your generosity in supporting this cause.

Positive Behaviour for Learning

There was plenty of anticipation across the school last week as we revealed our three new St Joseph's school expectations:

  • We are Brave
  • We are Safe
  • We are Respectful

Please head over to the Wellbeing page to learn more about how we will be embedding these new expectations across our school.

Be sure to take a look at our Instagram page to see how the new expectations were revealed and celebrated!

Division Athletics

A huge congratulations to Chris Nicu and Biagio Minca on their fantastic efforts representing our school at the Division Athletics competition last Monday.

Biagio put in a brilliant performance in the 800m placing 4th overall - a magnificent achievement he should be very proud of!

We are also thrilled to celebrate Chris, who took out 1st place in the 200m sprint! Chris will now move on to represent our school at the Regional Athletics competition on Wednesday, 14th October.

We wish Chris the absolute best of luck at Regionals, and congratulations again to both boys for their outstanding sportsmanship and effort!

Important Update: Late Arrivals After 8:55 AM

We are introducing a new sign-in procedure for students arriving at school after 8:55 AM.

Where to sign in: Students must sign in at the front office using the dedicated device.

Who can sign in: We encourage parents to sign their child in, though older students are welcome to do it themselves.

Why it matters: Signing in directly updates the class roll. If a student goes straight to class without signing in at the office, parents will automatically receive a Compass alert for an unexplained absence.

Thank you for your cooperation as we roll out this new system.

Brown Paper Bags

A big thank you to everyone in our school community who generously donated brown paper bags over the term! Thanks to your amazing support, we now have more than enough supplies for our school activities. We kindly ask that families hold off on bringing in any further bags for now. We truly appreciate your ongoing support and eagerness to help out!

Footy Day & Special Lunch

We are excited to celebrate Footy Day this Friday 18th September! Students are invited to dress up and wear their favourite footy team’s colours or paraphernalia to school to join in the festive spirit.

To help mark the occasion, the school will be providing hot dogs to all students on the day. Both beef and vegetarian options will be available.

  • Action required: If you DO NOT wish for your child to receive a hot dog, or if your child requires a beef sausage (pork-free) or a vegetarian sausage (meat-free), please notify the front office or email your child's classroom teacher as soon as possible.

Senior Sports Gala Day

Last Friday, our Seniors headed to McDonnell Park for a fantastic day of Gala Day activities. Students competed in Newcombe Volleyball, tennis and Ultimate Frisbee, showing great enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the day. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, having a go and supporting one another. Our Seniors represented the school proudly, demonstrating our school expectations of being Brave, Respectful and Safe throughout the day.
