Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of Term 1, I would like to sincerely thank all staff for their hard work, professionalism, and ongoing support throughout the term.

There has been much to celebrate, and it has been pleasing to see the strong sense of teamwork and commitment to providing a positive learning environment for our students.

I wish you all a safe and restful Easter break, and hope you have the opportunity to spend time with family and friends and recharge.

I look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 2, ready for another productive and rewarding term.

Today is the last day of Term 1.  Students will assemble on the blue basketball court at 12:15pm for a short outdoor assembly and will then be dismissed at 12:30pm.  School will resume for Term 2 on Monday 20th April at 8:45am.  I wish you all a relaxing term holiday.  Please note that Prep - Year 3 Swimming lessons commence on the second day back for Term 2.

Staff and Year 6 Buddies Program

This year, we have introduced a Staff and Year 6 Buddy Program, where each Year 6 student is paired with a staff member as a mentor. (Some staff have several Year 6 Buddies).

On Tuesday, we shared a healthy morning tea in the hall, providing a wonderful opportunity for staff and students to spend time together, chat, and begin building meaningful connections.

My sincere thanks to Mrs Susan William, our Performing Arts and Community Leader, for organising this special event for our staff and students. I also extend my appreciation to Mrs Ann Easton for her support in preparing the morning tea.

We look forward to gathering on several occasions throughout the year, including at significant milestones such as Confirmation and Graduation, as we continue to strengthen these relationships and support one another.

Safe around Schools Campaign  - Kingston Council

Thank you for helping keep our school community safe.  You might notice new banners around our school in Term 2 as part of the City of Kingston’s Safe Around Schools campaign.

This campaign starts with a simple message: thank you.

We know that many families and drivers in our community are already doing the right thing. You are slowing down, stopping at crossings, and taking care around our school. These banners are here to recognise those efforts and encourage everyone to keep it up.

You might see messages like this:

These messages are a reminder that we all share responsibility for keeping our school environment safe, for our children, families, and crossing supervisors who support us each day.

A quick reminder for families and drivers

  • Reduce your speed when nearing school zones.
  • Always stop at crossings and follow the crossing supervisor’s direction.
  • Be alert for children walking, riding, or crossing, especially during busy times.
  • Avoid stopping or parking in unsafe spots.

Even little actions can have a big impact.

Thank you for continuing to look out for one another and helping create a safe, calm environment around our school.

School fees

A reminder to parents that all student levies and camp fees are due to be paid before the end of Term 1 unless there is a payment plan in place. Please pay by direct debt or telephone the school office to make a credit card payment.

Prep 2027 Enrolment update

Yesterday, we held the last of our official Open Days for our 2027 Prep enrolments. I would like to personally congratulate our Year 6 students on the positive and respectful manner in which they conducted themselves throughout the important role of tour guiding. We received many compliments from prospective families, who were impressed by the students’ confidence, knowledge of our school, and welcoming approach.

I am also very pleased to share that, at last count, we currently have 40 sibling enrolments confirmed for next year. This means we have 32 places available for new families to join our growing community. We are planning for three full Prep classes in 2027.  With a waiting list for potential future places.

All Prep 2027 enrolments will be finalised/offered by Friday 1st May next term (End of Week 2, Term 2).
