SUCCESS STORIES
SUCCESS IN THE VISUAL ARTS
We would like to congratulate Diane Dixon and Sofija Lukac of Year 12, whose Unit 3 Art Creative Practice artworks were exhibited in a recent group exhibition at the Brunswick Street Gallery, Fitzroy.
Their work was included in BSG’s annual art competition titled the Fifty-Squared Art Prize, which exhibited a wide range of artworks by practicing and emerging artists in Melbourne.
A huge success for Diane and Sofija, and a definite foot in the door of Melbourne’s exceptional arts culture!
Sofija is also our current Artist on the Rise. Find out more about her art practice in the Visual Arts report.

Riva Guliya and Archer Hankin recently represented Victoria in the National Indoor Cricket Championships.
Riva captained her team for the entirety of the competition and was one of the highest run scorers in the U16 girls division with 136 runs. Archer was also a leading run scorer with 144 runs throughout, assisting his team to a 4th place victory.
Congratulations to both students on this outstanding achievement.
ALINE LIJO - A STATE CHAMPION ON WHEELS
Aline Lijo of Year 7 has been awarded Victorian Artistic Roller-Skating Champion for the second year in a row and was recently selected to compete in the Skate Australia, 2024 Artistic National Championships.
Aline has been skating since Year 2, focusing on Artistic Solo Free Dance and has been awarded many medals over the years. She represents SK8House Club in Carrum Downs.
Artistic skating is a precision sport that requires stamina, speed, grace and timing. Competitors are judged on the creativity and flair they apply to their routines.
During the term break, Aline travelled to Liverpool in NSW for the competition and we are proud to announce she scooped a silver medal for her efforts.
Congratulations on a wonderful result Aline.
