CHES provides high-achieving and high-ability senior students from Victorian government schools with opportunities for extension, acceleration and enrichment as part of their Year 10 or VCE program.

Opportunities for 2025 Year 10 students

CHES offers Year 10 Enrichment Subjects (in addition to school curriculum). If a student decides to complete an enrichment subject through CHES, they will be supported through the Explore and Elevate programs at Wantirna College. Students will be expected to complete 2 or 3 hours of hy-flex learning each week (for the 15-week semester).

  • Four subject choices:

My First Speech Competition

Towards the start of the Term, Parliament made a nation wide announcement about a competition for Year 10-12 students to make a 'first speech' as if you were speaking in the House of Representatives. One student from each year group will be chosen to fly to Canberra to make that speech and undertake a program at Parliament House. As a College Captain and fellow Year 12, I chose to participate in this challenge and submitted a speech on the current housing crisis and homelessness issue that many Australians are facing. I hope to be selected to have the opportunity to speak at Parliament and represent Wantirna College and the Aston Electorate!
