Hi Everyone
As this is our last newsletter for the term, I would like to thank our school community for your ongoing support of our school this term. A special thanks to our school P&C who continue to do amazing work supporting our students.
I hope you enjoy the school holidays and we will see you back on Tuesday 3rd October.
Go the Broncos!
Surfing
Congratulations to all of our students who competed in the Palm Beach Classic Surf Comp held at Tallebudgera Beach on Wednesday. With ideal conditions, especially in the morning, our students competed strongly in an individual competition against other surfers from Coolangatta SS and Currumbin SS.
Thank you to Mr Cocks and Mr Locke for their outstanding organisation fo this event and the parents who were there all day to cheer the students on! Well-done Palmy!
Under 8’s
Yesterday we celebrated Under 8’s day. It was a fantastic day with so many activities from face painting, Lego robots a Petting Zoo to the ‘Rave Cave’ dance party, which I think parents enjoyed as much as the children!
There were smiles all around and a great day was had by all of our Prep and Year 1 students. A special thank-you to Mrs Woodley for her organisation of this special event, as well as McGrath Reals Estate for the donation of sausages which raised $736 for the school, amazing effort!
Studio Pilates who kindly donated ice blocks for all of the students and Coles Palm Beach for their generous fruit donation to keep us all going throughout the morning. We look forward to next year!
Opti Minds
Optiminds is an inclusive team challenge which empowers participants to think, create and communicate. Teams are required to work together on a long-term challenge for up to six weeks without assistance from anyone outside the team.
Participants are encouraged to explore possibilities & experiment with ideas as they endeavour to produce their best possible solution. They develop creative & original ways to communicate this solution to others, working within predefined parameters such as limited materials. This year we entered 16 teams into the Optiminds competition in the Language and Literature section.
Regional Athletics
Congratulations to our students who represented our school at regional athletics recently; Lennox, Olive, Quinn, Mia, Milla, Kai, Chloe and Bridie.
All students competed enthusiastically and were proud representatives of our school. Some student also set personal best times which is a great effort.
Animals on School Grounds
Please remember that animals (including dogs and puppies) are not allowed on school grounds. While we appreciate the value of interactions with animals, safety and hygiene are our top priorities.
If your child wants to share their pet's joy, consider options like a photo for show-and-tell.
Thank you for ensuring a secure and inclusive environment for everyone. Your cooperation is greatly valued.
Playgrounds
We would like to remind all parents that our school playgrounds are out of bounds before and after school hours. Ensuring the safety of our students is our utmost priority, and having unsupervised play on the playgrounds can pose potential risks.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our school environment secure. Thank you for your continued support in maintaining a safe space for all our children.
