Sport Update

Congratulations to those Year 6 students who represented our school at the MDPSSA Basketball Lightning Premiership on Thursday 27th August.
The children travelled to Jubilee Basketball stadium and competed against other schools from our district in a round robin competition. Both teams had been training hard together at lunchtimes and during sport and were even lucky enough to be coached by Luke.
The Baxter girls team had a fun day playing against some very experienced teams. They certainly learnt a lot along the way and by the end of the day they were really starting to get the hang of how to move the ball successfully down the court.
The Baxter boys team came away with a draw and one convincing win for the day. They had the opportunity to display some of their impressive ball handling skills! The students all played well together, and they developed their teamwork with each game.
We would like to thank our coaches Amber & Luke for their team management on the day. Thank you also to those parents who came along to score and also to support the students. Most of all a very big thank you to Ms Evans for overseeing the smooth running of our games on the day.
Well done everyone!
DISTRICT ATHLETICS
Congratulations to all students from Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 who have trained for weeks in many athletics events – including track & field. They have participated in trials to be selected to represent Baxter Primary School at the Murdoch District Athletics Carnival. This will be held at the Ballam Park athletics track on Monday 7th September.
We know that you will all do an incredible job of your events on the day and we are very proud of you and all the training you are doing preparing for this day.
We are confident your dedication, training and persistence will pay off on the day. Good luck!
