Grade Four

Term 2 has gotten off to a terrific start. Well done to all of the students who have settled back into the classroom and had a great start to the term. We have continued to engage in our Friendology program and will continue to have this as a focus for the remainder of the year.
We would like to congratulate the Grade 4 students on their hard work during Term 1, which concluded with them putting together a convict artefact exhibition. The students invested great deal of effort into their artefact creation, as well as their journal entries.
During English lessons, the students have been working on idea development to assist in their independent writing. They have been brainstorming in their writers’ notebooks and will use these ideas in future writing pieces. We are looking forward to reading their completed writing pieces!
Math lessons have given the students the opportunity to investigate and apply their knowledge of money and investigate 2D shapes and their properties. They have identified features of shapes and properties such as symmetry and angles. During Mental Computation, students are focusing on strategies to support their times tables knowledge and recall.
We are incredibly proud of the behaviour of our students during this week's ANZAC ceremony. It was wonderful to see students engaging in the ceremony and asking questions around this commemoration.
We are looking forward to commencing our swimming program in the coming weeks as well as attending the Zoo excursion very soon!
The Grade 4 team.
