Principal Report

Dear Families,

It was so wonderful to see so many of you this morning at our Community Morning and Mother’s/Special Persons Day celebrations. The activities that were held in the classrooms were sensational. We hope all our families can enjoy a lovely day together on Sunday. A huge thank you to the Wellbeing Team and extra volunteers who organised and cooked the egg and bacon breakfast and did the pack up at the end. We appreciate you.

Disabled Parking

We ask that all families be very mindful of the disabled parking space at the front of our school. We only have one space so please only park in this space if you have a valid disabled parking permit. Thank you for your cooperation.

Bunnings BBQ - Sunday 17th May

Our School Council and Fundraising Sub-Committee have done an amazing job organising the Bunnings Fundraising BBQ. We are still looking to fill some volunteer positions. We would really appreciate it if you could spare an hour or two on this day. Please register via this Google Doc:Bunnings BBQ Roster Template V2. The more the merrier.

Excursions

Today we had many students out and about. We had a group of 21 students attending the Sovereign Cross Country event. They all represented Dana Street with pride and did an amazing job.

Our 3/4 students had a visit to the Ballarat Library to participate in the Ballarat Library Community Experience. This excursion is linked with the Year 3/4 Inquiry Unit How does my body world? What do I need to do?. They took part in three engaging workshops, including a session with Ambulance Victoria, a Health Care Panel where students were able to ask questions and a hands-on research session in the library. The students had a wonderful time.

Dressing for the Weather

We have certainly experienced our first burst of Winter this week. Throughout the colder months, we will always endeavour to have the students outside at recess and lunch as much as possible. Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing so they are comfortable while outside.

Have a wonderful week,

Helen
