Green Christmas decorations

Last week Lower Junior students closed their eyes and passed around some spices to smell and feel. They learned that cinnamon sticks and star anise come from trees, and we purchase the spice in powder form from the supermarket. Junior McFaul students cleverly identified the spices from smelling them.

Students made Christmas trees by joining three icy pole sticks to make a triangular shape. The star anise went on the top for the star and the cinnamon stick for the trunk of the trees. They also threaded pipe cleaners and attached bells to their trees. A lovely Christmas fragrance!

Nice work Lower Juniors!
