News from 5/6

What a great start to the year has been made by our Senior students this year!  After plenty of resilience was displayed in our two days of testing, they have gone on to be excellent role models of respect and responsibility in their first two days of school.

In class meetings, they have collectively made decisions about class organisation, and job distribution and have worked collaboratively to create classroom display areas.

They also loved spending time with their buddies on Friday afternoon.

This term, Mr Foley will be in the Senior classroom on Mondays and Tuesdays with Ms Urquart teaching on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  Mrs Traynor will be in the classroom from Monday to Friday but will be released once a fortnight to fulfill her duties as Literacy Leader.

Specialist classes are as follows:

Monday:      PBL and STEAM (5/6T)

Tuesday:      Performing Arts and Japanese

Wednesday:

Thursday:    STEAM (5/6 FD) and PE

Friday:          Assembly/Friendship Groups

Children will need to wear their sports uniform on Thursdays and have an art smock at school for all 'messy' activities.  Some children may have outgrown their art smock from previous years so may need to raid their parents' cast-away T-shirts/button up shirts.

Library Day is yet to be determined.

Our camp is in the first week of Term 2, so stay tuned for more information about that as it becomes available.
