When the sun comes out, put your reading hat on!

Welcome back to the library in 2024.  I hope you all got a chance to put your reading hats on over the holidays and enjoy a good book.  Thank you to everyone who has found and returned any outstanding book loans.  Please remember to pop any books you've found over the holidays in your child's school bag to find their way back to us.  This will be most appreciated and then those books can be read and enjoyed by other students too.

Scholastic Book Club

Our school will be participating in the Book Club again this year.  Your child will receive a brochure twice a term to bring home and have a look through to see if there are any books they or you would like to purchase.  If so, you are welcome to go online to the Scholastic website and order and pay for these books.  If you would like to avoid a delivery fee, you can opt to have the books delivered to school and we will distribute the books to the children in their classes to bring home.  A cut-off date for this type of delivery will be advertised in the newsletter and it usually takes 2-3 weeks after this date for the books to arrive at school.

One of the great things about Book Club is that Scholastic gives back 15% of the book sales to our school as rewards dollars for us to buy new books and resources for our library and classrooms.   So every time you buy a book, our school benefits as well.

Looking through the catalogue together with your child is a great way to gain a sense of what type of books they like to read and can lead to a positive discussion about books. You can also look online at the Scholastic catalogue : https://www.scholastic.com.au/book-club/book-club-parents/

The Issue 1 catalogue is coming home soon with your child and the cut off date to order for school delivery is Wednesday 14th February.  

Spare catalogues are always available in the school office foyer if needed.
