School Captains

Hey everyone,

Welcome back to the School Captains' Report. These past few weeks have been really busy.

We’re  sure everyone enjoyed the week. There seemed to be lots of science experiments being held across the year levels. These included lots of science fun in Foundation and our experiments about condensation, and our favourite: oobleck!

We would also like to take another moment to talk about Reconciliation Week, embracing and acknowledging the importance of understanding our past and how we can educate ourselves and the future generations to be supportive and respectful to all cultures. We would also like to raise awareness of the 1967 Referendum and Eddie Mabo, for his life-changing ‘Mabo Case’ - the two most important turning points in the history of Australia and equality. Mabo Day was held on the 6th of June.

Last week the final Interschool sports round took place. A really big shout out to the Year Sixes for their exceptional hard work and dedication for the past four games. Congratulations to everyone who participated, despite the results everyone tried really hard and had a lot of fun. Special mention to the T-Ball team who missed out on making it to the finals by just three runs!!

Thank you to the Leaders in the Making, the Year Fives who filled in for us during assemblies that the Year Sixes were not able to attend. We, as School Captains, have missed attending assembly, so we can’t wait to get back into action!

There are only a few weeks left of Term Two before the school holidays. Time flies by so fast! Just a reminder that the 10th of June is a public holiday, so try to take some rest during the long weekend. Winter has arrived, so be sure to stay warm, safe and happy!

Your School Captains,

Saanvi and Harry
