There are lots of things going on at ENPS and so many students who are creative and critical thinkers by taking risks to grow their learning.

Bebras Round One Results

Twice a year a number of students from Years Three to Six participate in the Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge. Round One was held in May and I would like to congratulate the students on their positive approach to the tasks presented and can now provide the results that were achieved.

Science Talent Search Update

Science Talent Search students are working hard on their entries for the competition which are due in early August. This year we have 24 students involved this year which is outstanding. 

 

Each week I meet with these students and I look forward to finding out what they have discovered through their inquiry into their topic.

 

We have students who are working on Creative Writing, Experimental Research, Posters, Games, Photography, Video Productions and Computer Programs, so you can see that we have many talented students across our school.

Would you like a challenge? Competitions for 2024

National Water Week Poster Competition

To help celebrate National Water Week, Victorian water corporations are once again hosting their popular National Water Week poster competition.

 

This year’s poster competition theme is - ‘Water for all, inspiring action'.

 

Victorian children from early learning through to Year Six primary level are encouraged to design, draw or paint a poster that demonstrates this theme.

 

Key dates:

  • Entries close: Friday, 5pm on the 6th of September 2024
  • Winners will be announced during National Water Week, 21 - 27 October 2024

Wild At Art: threatened species art competition for kids

Wild At Art is Australia's biggest wildlife art competition for kids. 

 

It's an opportunity for children to unleash their artistic creativity while learning about Australia's threatened animals and plants – and the threats facing them. 

 

I’ll be supporting students who are interested in entering Wild At Art 2024 which will run from 17 June to 12 August, so check out the details here, and let me know if you are interested.

 

​​National History Challenge Australia's Wartime Experiences category 

The National History Challenge is open to primary and secondary school students across Australia. It is an opportunity for students to research and explore history in their own ways.

 

This year's theme – 'Crisis and response' – lets you explore a topic that interests you.

 

You can enter the competition with a research essay, a 3D model or an audio-visual presentation. You might have another idea that will impress the judges. Click this link for more information then contact me if you are interested in participating.

Your Health Link Photographic Competitions

Are you a budding photographer with an interest in being healthy? Then this competition may be for you.

 

The Competition theme this year is ‘Healthy Life Healthy You’ where you can take photos of a whole range of topics such as:

  • people exercising and having fun outdoors
  • healthy eating
  • respectful and caring relationships
  • healthy environments
  • diversity, multiculturalism and inclusion
  • healthy communities
  • wellbeing, resilience, purpose and happiness.

Your Health Link Photo Competition: My Quick Healthy Family Recipe is a sub-category in the competition.

 

In this category, you need to create a delicious, healthy dish straight from your family’s kitchen. It could be Granny’s famous vegetable soup, your Uncle’s legendary fruit salad, or your own unique creation then grab your camera or phone, because they want to see your recipe come alive! 

 

You must also include and upload a complete written recipe along with your photo entry.

Imagination Creation Writing Competition

Imagination Creation Writing Competition is a biennial competition run by Wyndham City Libraries.

 

The 2024 competition is now open and runs from 15 April – 14 July!

 

Young writers from all around Victoria are encouraged to enter as many writing pieces as they would like. Categories include both stories and poems, by writers aged 5-10 years, 11-14 years, and 15-18 years.
