Performing Arts
Hi everyone!
Here’s what we’ve been up to in Performing Arts over the last few weeks…
Foundation
Foundation students have been exploring with their senses in the linked unit of inquiry ‘Senses help us explore the world.’ Last week, they tuned into their sense of touch and modelled clay into pinch pots. This week, they tuned into their sense of sight and hearing with a mindfulness activity.
Year One and Two
Year One and Two students have completed their ‘Dance Maps’ with all three student directors having a go at teaching their map to their group and performing it to music.
Year Three and Four
Year Three and Four students have been learning about the dance style known as the ‘Cha Cha Cha’ over the last few weeks. Students firstly learnt about the origin/history of the dance before learning my routine. Students then had the homework task of creating some of their own steps and adding them on to my routine in class.
Year Five
The Year Fives are still deep in their creative process for their class Flash Mobs. We finalised the small group parts last week and performed them with music. This week, we completed a responding task.
Year Six
Year Six students are enjoying the creation of their Clowning Routines! Last week, students created their Big Entrance. This week, students are working on building their Introduction and Problem. Students have been having so much fun with this unit already. It’s great to see them adopt the personalities of the White Face and Auguste Clown. Please see some photographs below of the students performing in their 'Work in Progress Showings' at the end of the lesson.
That’s it from me. Have a fabulous weekend!
