Celebrating Success in the HPE Department!

We are thrilled to highlight the outstanding sporting achievements of our students at Sandringham College this year. Their hard work, determination, and teamwork have truly shone through in various competitions. A heartfelt congratulations to our dedicated HPE staff, whose support and guidance have been instrumental in fostering this success. Together, we are building a strong culture of sportsmanship and achievement!

This term, our dedicated team of HPE educators and enthusiastic students have been busy cultivating an environment of vitality and knowledge. From active outdoor excursions, prepping for Unit 3 and 4 examination and essential lessons on mental health, alcohol, risk taking, harm minimisation and overall wellness, this term has been a journey filled with inspiration and achievement.

Year 9 Outdoor Education Studies – Camp to Gippsland

The Year 9 Outdoor Education camp at Wilsons Prom was an exciting and challenging adventure designed to build resilience and teamwork. Students hiked up Mount Oberon, where they were rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. They took on stand-up paddleboarding on Tidal River, battling strong winds that test their balance and determination. The camp also included a fun and thrilling surfing session at Sandy Point, where students embraced the waves and develop new skills. Camping amongst the wombats added to the experience, with students having a fantastic time bonding in the great outdoors and connecting with nature.

This camp was a transformational opportunity, where our students honed their skills and grew more self-sufficient, mastering the art of self-reliance in outdoor settings that were new and exciting for many. We sincerely hope that all our students had an amazing time during this camp and that they are inspired to continue their journey in outdoor recreation studies into the next year, as they embark on Year 10. The adventure has only just begun!

Good Luck

Wishing the very best of luck to our dedicated Unit 3 & 4 students preparing to take on their Health and Human Development, Physical Education, and Outdoor Education Studies exams. Your hard work, determination and commitment have brought you to this important moment, and we have every confidence in your abilities. Remember, you've got this! Stay calm, focused and trust in the knowledge and skills you’ve learnt this year!
