Dear God,
O Loving God, source of all wisdom and grace,
we humbly come before You,
interceding for these students who have and are preparing
to receive Your most holy Sacraments.

For those who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation,

grant them sincere contrition for their sins and the courage to confess them.

Fill them with Your merciful love, that they may experience the joy of forgiveness,

healing, and a renewed relationship with You.

We pray especially for those who received First Holy Communion,
that they know and love Jesus who is present in the Eucharist.
Open their hearts to receive Him with devotion, wonder, and profound gratitude,
and may this sacred meal nourish their souls for eternal life.

And for those who will receive Confirmation,
we pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon them.
Strengthen them with Your sevenfold gifts: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
May they be courageous witnesses to Christ in the world, boldly living out their faith and sharing Your Gospel with joy.
Bless their parents, teachers, and catechists,
who have guided them on this spiritual journey.
May their efforts bear abundant fruit,
leading these young people ever closer to Your Son.
We ask all this through Christ our Lord.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Last week, we celebrated a truly special milestone in the faith journey of many of our students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. We extend our warmest congratulations to each candidate who, with courage and grace, embraced God's forgiveness. This sacrament is a beautiful opportunity to experience God's love and to grow closer to Him. We are incredibly proud of their thoughtful preparation and reverence, and we pray that this will continue to strengthen their relationship with Christ throughout their lives. Thank you to their families and our dedicated teachers for guiding them through this significant step in their spiritual development.

Sacrament of First Eucharist

What a joyous and sacred occasion we shared yesterday as many of our students received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion! It was a truly beautiful celebration, receiving Jesus Christ, truly present in the Eucharist, for the very first time. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to each of these candidates. Their reverence, joy, and thoughtful preparation were evident to all, and we are so proud of them. A sincere thank you to their families, teachers, and parish community for their dedicated guidance and support in preparing the children for this sacrament.

Sacrament of Confirmation

In the coming weeks, we eagerly anticipate another significant milestone in the spiritual journey of many of our Stage 3 students as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. This sacrament deepens the grace received at Baptism, sealing them with the Holy Spirit and empowering them to be courageous witnesses to Christ in the world. Our students are engaging in thoughtful preparation, learning about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and how they can live out their faith more fully. Please keep these students, their families, and their sponsors in your prayers as they approach this special day, asking that the Holy Spirit may guide and strengthen them always. We look forward to celebrating this joyful occasion with our parish community.

Navigating the Digital World Safely: A Partnership between Home & School

In our increasingly digital world, we know that online platforms play a significant role in the lives of our children. Recently, we welcomed the Youth Liaison Officers to our school, who spoke to our students about online safety. Following their visit, a survey of students in Years 3-6 revealed some important insights into their online habits.

The survey indicated that a significant majority of our students in these year levels are regularly engaging with online games, accessing social media platforms, and communicating with individuals they may not necessarily know personally. While these platforms can offer opportunities for learning and connection, these findings highlight the critical importance of reinforcing safe online practices.

As a school, we are committed to educating our students about responsible digital citizenship. However, the most effective approach to online safety is a strong partnership between home and school.

We urge all parents and carers to:

Prioritise Online Safety Conversations: Regularly talk to your child about their online activities. Discuss the importance of not sharing personal information, being kind online, and what to do if they encounter something that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
Monitor Online Usage: Be aware of the online platforms your child is accessing and the amount of time they are spending online. Consider using parental controls and reviewing their online interactions.
Know Who They're Connecting With: Encourage your child to only communicate with people they know and trust in real life. Emphasise the dangers of interacting with strangers online.
Set Clear Boundaries: Establish clear rules and expectations for online behaviour, including time limits and appropriate content.

We understand that keeping up with the rapidly evolving digital landscape can be challenging. We will continue to provide resources and guidance to our students, and we encourage you to utilise the many excellent online safety resources available for parents. Working together, we can help our children navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.
