Green, green, green everywhere!
Monday was a vibrant celebration of St Patrick, with students and staff showcasing a fantastic array of green! The day was packed with excitement, from a special liturgy and delicious green treats to a fun leprechaun hunt and lively physical activities. Congratulations to Benji, Shaun, Maddie, and Katie for finding the hidden leprechauns, and to Lacey for her golf ball discovery! Ellody for correctly guessing the number of lollies in a jar as well as Harper, Archer and Flo for their winning colouring in entries.
The day was a resounding success, raising over $150 for Project Compassion! Thank you to the parents for the delicious green treats and to our Mini Vinnies for their hard work. Congratulations to everyone who contributed!

Walcha Show
Saturday morning at the Walcha Show was a great experience, and I was absolutely thrilled to see the incredible talent and dedication showcased by our students. From colourful artworks to meticulously crafted projects, the entries from St Patrick’s students were truly outstanding.
It was wonderful to witness the hard work and creativity that went into each and every submission. The variety of categories highlighted the diverse skills and interests within our school community, and it was clear that our students had put their hearts into their work.
I was particularly impressed with the high standard of entries across the board. The displays were vibrant and engaging, and it was evident that our students had taken great pride in their contributions.
A huge congratulations to all of our prize winners! Your achievements are a testament to your talent and perseverance. I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you.
But beyond the prize ribbons, it was the spirit of participation and the display of enthusiasm that truly made the morning special. Seeing our students’ work displayed alongside that of the wider community was a fantastic reminder of the talent we nurture here at St. Patrick’s.

Parent-Teacher Interviews – Term 1
Parent-Teacher Interviews for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will commence this upcoming Monday, 24th March. These meetings are a valuable opportunity for parents to gain insight into how well their child has settled into the school year, discuss their current progress, and collaborate with teachers to set individual learning goals for the remainder of the semester.
Parents can still book their appointments through the Compass portal under the Conferences section. Last week, a notification was sent to all families outlining the available days and times for their child's classroom teacher. Please complete your booking as soon as possible to secure your preferred time.
We encourage all families to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with teachers and support their child’s learning journey.
Premier's Reading Challenge
Exciting news this year as St Patrick's students will again be participating in the Premier's Reading Challenge. We urge all students to take part.
Your child's login details will be sent home shortly. You and your child will then be required to log in, provide the child's information, so they can record their books online.
Many of the PRC books can be found in our school library, where we will encourage students to borrow them during library time. Additionally, we are introducing all students to "SORA" - an app tailored to the contemporary student reading experience. This app enables students to explore and enjoy ebooks and audiobooks from their school, for both recreational and assigned reading purposes. It also includes the PRC books. We aim to have this process completed for students very soon!
Northern NSW Da Vinci Decathlon at TAS
St Patrick's Primary School is once again participating in the Northern NSW Da Vinci Decathlon at The Armidale School in Armidale on Thursday 3rd April. Students from Year 6 will be representing our school. Due to an abundance of eligible students, we are faced with the challenge of having too many for one team and not enough for two teams. Consequently, we have a reserve list in place in case any team members withdraw.
The Decathlon is a prestigious academic event organised among schools, aiming to engage and inspire students across 10 diverse disciplines, including Mathematics, English, Science, Code Breaking, Engineering Challenge, Ideation, Creative Producer, Art and Poetry, Cartography, and Legacy. Mrs Makeham will be supervising our team on the day. We extend our heartfelt wishes for the success of our team.
P and F Meeting this upcoming Tuesday evening
This upcoming Tuesday (25th March) at 6:00pm, the Parents and Friends (P&F) Committee will be holding a meeting in the Year 3-4 classroom, with the option to join via Zoom.
This is a great opportunity for parents and community members to come together, discuss upcoming events, and support initiatives that benefit our school.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, whether in person or online. We look forward to seeing you there!
