Things to know

The community members of Launching Place Primary School acknowledge the traditional owners, the Kulin nations, of the land on which we learn and play.

We pay respects to the Aboriginal Elders, past and present, who are our teachers.

We thank them for taking care of children and country for countless generations.

The Kids of Gold Camp

The Kids of Gold Camp coming up in May 2025 is available to those interested.. The camp runs from Fri 16th – Sun 18th  May  2025. These camps are for building self esteem and confidence in upper primary-age children, and are continuing to prove beneficial for children in a whole range of areas, including areas of anxiety and stress.  These camps have continued on for more than 20 years since 2003 because parents and children keep asking for them, and because they are so impressed with the good changes they see in their children who just want to keep coming back!

Flu's and Covid are starting to pop up

Symptoms of flu can hit very quickly and may last several weeks. Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself and others from getting the flu.

Parents, carers and students are encouraged to practice prevention measures, including:

· washing and sanitising hands regularly

· avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

· covering nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing

 · staying home if unwell and consulting a general practitioner (GP) or Nurse-on-call as required

· staying up to date with flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.

Flu vaccinations

Flu vaccinations can be booked through GPs and pharmacies, many of which can also provide COVID-19 vaccinations. Flu vaccination is recommended for everyone aged 6 months and over.
