Our next whole school curriculum day is scheduled for Friday 7th August. There will be no school for students on this day. Kelly Club will be running the below full day care program on this day, for bookings please contact Kelly Club.

Friday, 7 August may be a student free day for us here at Newtown PS, but none the less, it is the day chosen in 2026 to celebrate our amazing Principal Team.
The dedication that Mr Barclay and Mr McKinnis have, and the work they do day in and day out, is a testament to the positive and supportive environment they help create for the benefit of our students.
Their leadership, commitment and genuine care for our students, staff and school community does not go unnoticed. We are incredibly grateful for everything that they do behind the scenes and the guidance they provide each and every day.
Please join us in thanking and celebrating Mr Barclay and Mr McKinnis next week.

TICKET SALES: Ticket sales can be purchased via Trybooking, linked HERE. Please note: This is an adults only event.

HELP US ORGANISE THE 2026 TRIVIA NIGHT: As this is our major school fundraising event of the year, understandably there is a lot of moving parts to put together to run this event. If you would like to volunteer to assist with the planning and organisation of the Trivia Night, please contact the school office.
DONATIONS NEEDED! Two major aspects of our Trivia Night are a silent and main live auction. If you operate or are connected with a business or individual that may be able to make a contribution to our wonderful event in the form of auction items or prizes, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to the school office if you can assist.
Our annual Newtown PS Book Week Dress-up Parade will be held on Monday 24th August on the basketball court (weather permitting) from 9.15am. Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character!
This year’s theme is Symphony of Stories! Parents, carers and family members are all welcome to attend to watch the parade.
After the parade, we are inviting all parents, carers and family members to come into our classrooms to share in some literacy that your child has been working on in class.
Classrooms will be open after the conclusion of the parade through to 10:15am.
Join us for a symphony of stories together!

Please save the date for our Father's Day breakfast. Students are invited to bring along a dad, uncle, grandfather or special adult for an egg and bacon lunch. A coffee van will also be available to help kick start the day!

We just love seeing our students shine, both at school and outside of school.
Has your child had an amazing achievement or experience recently? If so, we would love to showcase it via our newsletter. If you think there is something that you would like to share within our fortnightly newsletter, please send an email with full details and accompanying photos through to newtown.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

As we do every year, we tag our fundraising efforts to a major area of the school and seek to improve one overall key aspect. In the past, previous fundraising efforts have gone to revitalising the library space, contributed to new asphalt works and line marking, purchased new outdoor furniture, and more! Although we have our own ideas, we are keen to hear from our families as to what you think we might be able to improve, upgrade, or replenish! Please use our 'always on feedback' portal (linked below) to share your ideas! Thank you.

Orders should be placed via the Flexischools App (instructions below) or website. See HERE for further information about the Fresh Food Fairy lunch service at Newtown PS.
