Year 9 and 10 Theatre Studies & Technologies excursion to ‘Form Imagination’

Last Friday, 23 August the Year 9 and 10 Theatre Studies classes went to local company ‘Form Imagination’ for an excursion. This inspiring local company build sets and props for productions around the world and nationally.

We got to see behind the scenes of their set construction for the musical ‘Hadestown’ as well as ‘Moulin Rouge’. It was so inspiring to see the amazing creative solutions the company has come up with for safe stage action, for example using a rubber that shatters to look like glass (pictured below) and lightweight polystyrene for a brick façade of an apartment.

We also got a special sneak preview of a set that hasn’t yet been installed in the theatre! We can’t tell you the show name, but it was amazing to see it being worked on. A big thank you to the team at Form Imagination for having us! Check out their socials for videos of some of the amazing things they have created.

Year 12 Theatre Studies Monologue Performance Evening

In October our four Year 12 Theatre Studies students will present their monologue interpretation for a panel of VCAA assessors which accounts for 25 per cent of their final mark. In order to prepare them for this task, and to share their work with the community, we invite you to come along to a performance evening that serves as a mock exam for the students and gives them valuable feedback ahead of the Term 3 holidays. This event will take place on Monday 16 September at 7pm in the Ensemble Room of our new Performing Arts Centre. No need to book, this is a free event and we hope to see you there!
