From the Principal

Mr Torpey

St Justin’s Primary School acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia's First People and Traditional Custodians of the land and waterways on which our school stands.

We pay our respects to the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, and their elders past and present, and emerging as we continue to proudly live and learn on their land.

Regional Soccer

On Monday both our Boys and Girls Soccer Teams took park in the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Soccer tournament at Petty Reserve in Templestowe.

It is the first time we have had 2 teams make it this far in many years which shows the level of talent we have at our school in terms of Soccer. Both teams had 3 pool matches with the boys winning each of their pool games showing wonderful teamwork and even better skills to produce great goals form Maxi, Christian and Alex!

The girls also finished top of their pool with 2 wins and 1 loss with some brilliant determination on display with Selena and Valencia troubling the opposition goalkeeper constantly.

Both teams then progressed to the semi finals and in tough matches, both progressed to the final with the boys winning 2-0 and the girls 1-0.

To have both teams make the final and have one foot into the state title was an extremely pleasing effort for both myself, Mrs Snell and the parents who were there in support. Unfortunately the boys and girls came up against two formidable opponents with the boys going down 2-1 with Christian scoring a free kick from almost halfway and the girls going down 6-2.

We are so proud of our players for getting this far - you have achieved so much.

A big thank you goes to Christian G for coaching the boys along with Matthew V and Daniel Z for coaching the girls - your support was magnificent and greatly appreciated.

Well done to all.

Mr J

School Fees

A reminder that all School Fees are due to be finalised by Tuesday 31st October

There is an expectation that families make progress payments throughout the year and if intending to make payment on the due date that you reachout to the school to advise us so that we can plan ahead.  With families keeping up with payments or keeping in contact with us in regards to fees or if you are requesting assistance this allows us to maintain activities and programs we already have in place at St. Justin's. We would greatly appreciate your support in regards to being on top of your fees.

As is our ongoing practice, should any family’s financial situation have changed, please contact Patrick Torpey or office staff on 9561 7644 or email office@sjwheelershill.catholic.edu.au to discuss your options.

Fair on the Hill

Our Annual St Justin's Fair on the Hill is fast approaching with an amazing amount of work already done. Remember it is being held on Saturday 9th November 2024 from 11:00am-4:00pm.

We have set up 2 Return-it Bins to help raise money to support our community - one bin can be found outside the church and the other outside the Wheeler Wing, near the Undercover Area.

We have also set up bins for our pre-loved books and toy stall - the bins are located in the corridor outside the staffroom - all donations in good condition will be much appreciated.

St Justin's 40th Anniversary Celebrations

This year we celebrate our 40th Anniversary. Celebrations are being planned for October, and we would like to ask if anybody has any memorabilia, photos or stories they would like to share with us. You can contact the office or email office@sjwheelershill.catholic.edu.au

We want to thank you for your support and look forward to celebrating such a significant milestone with our community.
