PRAYER

O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing,

I adore you, I love you,

and with lively sorrow for my sins

I offer you this poor heart of mine.

Make me humble, patient,

pure and wholly obedient to your will.

Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you.

Protect me in the midst of danger.

Comfort me in my afflictions.

Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs,

your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.

                                                                                 Amen.

From the Principal

Dear Parents,

This week we recognise the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. At this time, we are invited to reflect on the boundless love of Christ – a love that is selfless, giving and centred on caring for others, especially those in need.

As a school community we will support those in our community who may be doing it tough by collecting non-perishable food items for St Vincent de Paul. Students are invited to bring their donations in between now and the end of term. This simple act is a powerful way in which our students can see the face of Jesus in others and respond with kindness and generosity and bring hope and comfort to those who need it most.

Student Learning Conferences

Student Learning Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday 29 July 2025. This will be an opportunity for you and your child to discuss their Semester One report and future learning goals. Bookings will open on Tuesday 1 July on PAM.

School Closure Day

We have scheduled another school closure day for Friday 1 August. On this day, staff will further explore incorporating elements of Classical Education at St Philip’s within the context of our Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement companion documents. We will be supported by representative of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools for the day.

International Students

Next term we will welcome international students from China to our grades 3 to 6 classrooms. The duration of the students’ time with us varies from one week to six weeks. The international students will work with our students for some of the time and at other times they will work on their own programs. They all have conversational English. This will be a positive experience for all of us and we look forward to meeting them next term.

Important Dates for Term 3

Please note important dates in Term Three. The first is our annual Grandparent’s /Special Friend Day on Friday 25 July and our Father’s Day breakfast on Wednesday 3 September.
