School Philosophy

Orchard Grove Primary School is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment that engages curiosity, promotes learning, personal growth, and well-being for all students. We strive to develop adaptability and resilience so students can become valued members of the local and global communities and be prepared for future life experiences.

From the Principal

Welcome back to Term 3!

This term we are very lucky to have Deakin University pre service teachers here twice a week to work with our Year 2 students. This has been a term 3 tradition for many years, where our students get to experience small group science activities planned and implemented by pre-service teachers in their last semester of university. We also host pre service teachers throughout the year, ranging from first to fourth year students across all classrooms and specialist programs. It is fantastic that our students, teachers and community are able to make positive contributions through our positive classroom cultures and teaching practices.

Our school building is continuing towards completion, with the framing going in this week and the scaffolding coming out of the ground floor - giving us a better scope of what the floor plan will look like. I was lucky enough to get to go onto the first floor during a site inspection last week and it provides a very different view of our school!

Congratulations to Anna L for her run at the Victorian State Cross County race. Against all her peers from across the state Anna came 44th which was a fantastic result. We are all very proud of her efforts!

Thank you to our hard working Trivia Night (22nd August) team who are busy organising a great night - if you have not booked your spot then it is not too late to do so. Also if you would like to sponsor the event please reach out to the organising committee via Melissa Crozier.

Thank you also to Andrew Moore and Melissa Crozier, alongside all OGPS staff, for their leadership in the last two weeks of Term 2 whilst I was on leave.
