Science

Grade 1/2

This term, students explored the importance of water and how it is used by people, plants and animals. They investigated where water is found, what happens when it rains, how water moves through the ground, and the journey water takes from its source to our taps.

Grade 3/4

Students explored the Sun, Earth and Moon and how they appear in the sky. They investigated how light travels and how shadows form and used models to understand how Earth’s rotation creates day and night.

Grade 5/6

Students explored how the Sun, Earth and Moon move in space. They used models to understand the Moon’s changing appearance and investigated the planets in our Solar System, comparing the length of a day on each planet.

Physical Education

This term, students from Foundation–Year 6 enjoyed developing their athletics skills through a variety of running, jumping and throwing activities. They worked on improving their technique, coordination and confidence while participating in sprints, relays, long jump, high jump, hurdles and throwing events.

Students worked hard to prepare for our school Athletics Carnival, demonstrating fantastic effort, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the term.
