Our students have been engaging in various creative projects this term in Visual Arts!
Foundation students are exploring texture by creating collagraphs of textured monsters, which they will use for rubbings and printing.
In Year 1/2, students delved into the pop art of Roy Lichtenstein and the world of comic book onomatopoeia. They printed Ben-Day dots and chose a word to illustrate in a comic style, ultimately collaging their works together using vibrant primary colours.
Year 3/4 students examined collaborative artworks by Indigenous artists, discussing their understanding of land and culture. They compared this knowledge to their own experiences and created aerial maps of our local area using Google Images, PVA glue, and pastels.
Finally, Year 5/6 students studied the work of artist David Shillinglaw, focusing on his ‘pot heads’ sculptures. They are crafting ceramic pinch pots inspired by this artwork, exploring the concept of the mind and brain as ‘cosmic containers’.
