The start of term was exciting with Paralympian Beau Vernon visiting the college. Beau shared his story about overcoming adversity with our Sports Academy and Senior School students. Thank you for attending Beau, we trust that your authentic and honest presentation encouraged our students to maintain a 'helpful' mindset.
Over the Term 2 school holidays, five of our Year 7 students (Vince Giacobbe, Sabit Kaka, Cooper Purcell, Tatum Young and Cooper Beckett) competed in the Southern Peninsula Basketball Tournament. The boys remained undefeated all tournament, winning the grand final with Sabit Kaka receiving MVP. Well done boys!
Well done to Year 11 student, Noah Smith, who recently competed in the 16 and Under Boys School Sport Victoria Basketball Team in Moreton Bay, Queensland. Noah and his team were undefeated during the week, winning all 7 games, including the gold medal match against WA -(99-88).
Four Year 7 students (Sabit Kaka, Vince Giacobbe, Cooper Purcell and Tatum Young) competed in the Warragul U15 3x3 Basketball Cup in the school holidays, winning the cup! Well done boys.
Year 11 student, Cooper Belsham, recently travelled to America to compete in basketball tournaments across two states - Virginia and Texas. Competing against top talent in America, Cooper and his team were competitive, having one win in Virginia and one loss in Texas. Congratulations, Cooper, what an amazing experience!
Congratulations to Keira Ingham and her team from Casey who were recent champions at the 3x3 State Qualifier Basketball Tournament.
Congratulations to Year 11 student, Caleb Kleeven, who made his Senior Debut for Drouin Football Club recently. Well done, Caleb.
Brodie Atkins recently represented Vic Country at the AFL National Championships. Well done Brodie, this is a huge achievement.
Congratulations to Alex Ingham for recently being awarded Best on Ground in the 15s Boys Gippsland Allstars Grand Final (Western Gippsland were runners up against Southern Gippsland).
Keira Ingham (representing Western Gippsland) was recently named Best on Ground in the Dahlsons Gippsland Allstars Grand Final against Eastern Gippsland. Well done, Keira!
Congratulations to Year 10 student, Zekiya Glibanovic, who recently made her A Grade Debut for Yallourn Yallourn North Football Netball Club.

Well done to Shayla Smith who received the Student Athlete of the Month Award. Not only has Shayla achieved great sporting outcomes outside of school but she has also completed incredible work inside the classroom and during her sport classes. Well done, Shayla.
All students have been provided with a Sports Academy diary, which they use to record weekly goals, gratitude, homework and daily reminders for all subjects and events.
The diary is a great learning tool and we would love parents to take an interest in students' homework, learning tasks and everything else that is going on at school.
