End of Term
We would like to wish all of our families a safe and restful break. A reminder that school finishes tomorrow at 1:30pm. The school captains will host an end of term assembly in the stadium at 12:50 prior to dismissal from the classroom.
Term 2 resumes on Tuesday the 22nd of April, if your child is going to be away the first week of Term 2 due to the public holidays, please remember to log the absence on Compass.
Middle School Inquiry
On Wednesday our Middle School students showcased their term of learning during an expo. Year 3 students have undertaken a wellbeing unit focusing in on the character strengths of themselves and others and how to live a healthy life. They also explored different emotions and how to tune in to how other students are feeling. For their Inquiry projects their goal was to promote a healthy lifestyle choice. It was great to see a range of presentations from a focus on physical health to mental health strategies.
Year 4 students completed a unit on leadership in our community. They learnt how decisions can be made democratically and the role of local, state and federal government. They also learnt recognise the importance of rules and distinguish between rules and laws. For their inquiry projects students thought of a problem/issue they have seen in the local area that may need to be resolved and brainstormed ideas on how to solve the problem.
Easter Raffle
The principal team would like to thank the members of CHAPS who have organised our Easter Raffle this year. And, thanks to everyone who made donations big or small - all are appreciated! The raffle will be drawn TODAY, with minor winners collecting their prizes this afternoon, and the top 3 winners announced at our final assembly tomorrow. We are eagerly waiting to find out who the lucky ones will be… 🐰
Become a Reading Hero!
We’re looking for 3 more parent/carer/family volunteers to support our year 3-6 students in building their reading fluency and confidence! 📚✨
As a volunteer, you’ll work one-on-one with a student for 12-15 minutes using a simple Pause, Prompt, Praise approach to help them monitor and improve their reading accuracy. The students will bring an independent-level book, and your role is to encourage, support, and help them practice their reading skills.
No teaching experience needed…just a willingness to help! If you’re interested please email Jacinta.mackenzie@education.vic.gov.au
Take Some Time For Self Care
Thanks to all who have partnered with us to support the learning and engagement of your children this term. It is amazing how much growth they have made. We hope that the well-deserved break is a restful one. Don't forget to have pyjama day and a game day over the holidays. Take a leaf out of Mrs Reid's dogs, Piper & Amber... the "experts on downtime" 🐶😴
