Welcome Back
Welcome back to what is shaping up to be another vibrant and exciting term at Launching Place Primary School!
I hope all families enjoyed a well-earned break and found time to rest, recharge, and reconnect. Term One was a fantastic start to the year, and I want to sincerely thank our staff, students, and families for the way you embraced learning, supported one another, and contributed to our strong school culture.
As we begin Term Two, there is already a strong sense of momentum across the school. Classrooms have settled quickly, and students are engaging positively in their learning routines. This term is always a busy and rewarding one, filled with rich learning opportunities, special events, and moments that strengthen our sense of community.
A highlight this term will be Education Week, where we proudly open our doors and celebrate the incredible learning taking place every day at Launch. We look forward to welcoming families and community members into our school across a range of exciting events.
We also want to keep families informed that further industrial action is planned across the state this term. We will continue to communicate clearly as details are confirmed and thank you in advance for your understanding.
Finally, we are excited to share that Prep enrolments for 2027 are now open. If you, or someone you know, is considering Launching Place Primary School, we warmly invite you to connect with us and experience our school firsthand.
Term Two is always a time of growth, connection, and opportunity. I’m looking forward to all that lies ahead.

Important Update – Industrial Action
You may be aware of planned industrial action across Victorian government schools this term.
At this stage, we are awaiting confirmation of specific dates and the impact this may have on our school operations. We will communicate directly with families via Compass as soon as further information becomes available.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we work through this.
Prep 2027 Enrolments Now Open
We are now welcoming enrolments for our 2027 Prep students.
Launching Place Primary School offers a warm, inclusive environment where every child is known, supported, and challenged to succeed.

Education Week: Showcase Your School
Week 5: Monday 18th – Thursday 21st May
Education Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate learning and invite our community into our school. We have an exciting week planned and would love families to join us!
Monday: Family Open Afternoon
Come along and spend time in classrooms, see learning in action, and celebrate the great work happening across the school. More details coming shortly on Compass.
Tuesday: Teddy Bears’ Picnic
A special afternoon for Kinder-aged children and families. Bring along a teddy and enjoy a relaxed picnic while meeting our staff and exploring our school. Flyer now available with RSVP details.
Wednesday: Film Festival
Year 3 – 6 students will showcase their creativity through film, with opportunities for classes to share their work and celebrate student voice.
Thursday: Grandparents Day
We warmly invite grandparents and special family members to visit, spend time in classrooms, and share in the learning experience. Invites coming home soon.
