Something I stumbled upon recently was an interviewer in the UK who asks people who are visiting galleries “if you could own any piece of art, what would it be and why?” – such a good question! I’ve been thinking and trying to decide but until then, I asked our staff the same question and will bring you their answers each edition!

Ms Ashton-Lawson:My favourite artwork is Luncheon of the Boating Party by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. I feel it really captures a moment of young people living their lives, a snapshot of history and so many stories.

Gabby: La Mariée by Marc Chagall. It just makes me happy to look at it. My step mum gave a beautiful framed print to my Dad when they were first married so that may be why I love it. Why wouldn't there be a goat playing a cello at your wedding?!
