Year 11 Foundation Maths CBD Excursion
On June 20th, Year 11 Foundation Maths students embarked on an exciting and educational excursion to Melbourne's CBD. The staff who took part were Harpreet Sethi, Palika Soin and Fawzi Al-Zeebaree.
The trip, designed as part of the SAC for Unit 1, proved to be a tremendous success. Students demonstrated enthusiasm for the topic by filling in the excursion handout on the train and measuring objects around Federation Square to calculate volume and surface area.
Another key feature of the excursion was the emphasis on collaborative learning. The students worked in groups to gather the data for the handout and analyse the data set.
The maths excursion to Melbourne's CBD was a resounding success. It achieved its goals of enhancing students' understanding of mathematics, fostering collaboration, and demonstrating the real-world applications of mathematical concepts.
