Year 10 WRS Portfolio Interviews

Throughout Semester 2, students have been exploring different pathways into their preferred careers as part of their Year 10 Work Related Skills (WRS) classes.

For their final assessment, students will create and present a career portfolio. This will include identifying a job they would like to pursue after leaving school, preparing a resume and cover letter, and showcasing examples of their previous work. This assessment provides students with valuable experience in understanding the job application process and developing the skills needed to successfully apply for employment.

Interview Day – Wednesday 4 November

Student interviews will take place on Wednesday 4 November. There will be no Year 10 classes running on this day. Each student will be allocated an individual interview time and is expected to arrive prepared and ready to present their portfolio.

Students must arrive at least 5 minutes before their allocated interview time to allow themselves sufficient time to get organised. Students are also expected to come dressed appropriately as if they would be going for an actual job interview.

Please be aware that some students may be required to stay after their interview to make corrections, finalise their portfolio or complete outstanding work.

All WRS work must be completed by the end of Wednesday 4 November. Any outstanding work at the conclusion of the day will result in a Not Satisfactory (N) result, which will be recorded on the student's Year 12 report.

It is essential that students use the time leading up to the interview to complete all outstanding tasks and ensure their portfolio is ready to present. This is an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and develop skills that will support their future career pathways.
