Dear Parents and Friends,
What a great start to term we have had with students and staff hitting the ground running. It was wonderful to see so many visitors here yesterday joining us for Special Person’s Day, a wonderful buzz around the school on such a beautiful day.
A shout out to Adara and Catalina who represented St. Joseph’s at the Club level Lions Club Public Speaking competition on Saturday. Both students presented their speeches with enthusiasm and engaged the audience. Congratulations to Adara who came runner up in her age group, and to Catalina who won her age group. Catalina will speak at Regionals on the 17th August, good luck!
Another shout out to Millie who competed in the State Cross Country on Thursday. A fantastic effort. Millie came in at 55 out of 100.
Trivia Night
Early next term we are aiming to have our annual Trivia Night. We are looking for a group of volunteers to organise this event, many hands make light work.
Please reach out to myself or the office if you are interested in order that we can lock in a date and location.
Mary MacKillop Feast Day
As you are aware Friday 8th August is Mary MacKillop’s Feast Day. We will gather as a school at 9:00am for a Liturgy to celebrate. All are welcome to join us.
At 5:15pm all are invited to join us for our Candlelight for Compassion event. This will begin with a Lantern Walk at 5:30pm, followed by a soup meal (BYO Mug) at school and gold coin donation.
All cash and food donations (currently being collected) will be donated to Quercus.
